Body horror and hardcore sex in the same scene? Most studios wouldn’t touch that combo with a ten-foot tentacle. Pure Taboo just went all in, and now Adult Time is giving us the uncensored making-of for “The Growth.” If you haven’t seen the episode yet, stop reading and go watch—because this BTS will hit ten times harder once you know exactly how fucked up (and brilliant) it is.
Pure Taboo’s “The Growth” Just Dropped Its Behind-the-Scenes—and It’s Wild
Directed by the queen of dark taboo herself, Bree Mills, “The Growth” stars Lulu Chu, Penny Barber, and Sophia Locke in a nightmare that feels like David Cronenberg crashed a Pure Taboo shoot. Something unnatural starts sprouting from Lulu’s body, and let’s just say the girls get… intimately acquainted with it. Yeah, it’s as messed up as it sounds, and twice as hot.
Alison Rey Steps Behind the Camera
Forget the usual 30-second TikTok fluff. Adult Time handed the camera to Alison Rey—their ambassador who normally kills it on social—and let her shoot a legit mini-documentary. We’re talking long lenses, natural light, real conversations on set. Alison said it herself:
“This was a refreshing departure from the fast pace of short-form social media content… I got to showcase more organic moments and my own camera work beyond my usual TikTok videos.”
– Alison Rey
She absolutely delivered. You feel like you’re standing right there while they’re gluing prosthetics to Lulu Chu’s stomach at 3 a.m.
Practical Effects That Actually Look Disgusting (In the Good Way)
No cheap CGI here. Practical effects wizard Bawdy by Gabe built throbbing, veiny, dripping… things… that move on their own. Watching the team test the puppeteering rig is equal parts hilarious and skin-crawling. Michael Vegas on camera and editor Remzy Jizz (best name ever) talk about lighting the growth so it looks wet, alive, and terrifying while still being porn-camera friendly. That’s a tightrope most studios would fall off in two seconds.
- Custom silicone appliances molded directly on Lulu Chu
- Hidden air bladders making the “growth” pulse in real time
- Food-safe lube mixed with glycerin for that constant glistening drip
- Penny Barber laughing her ass off the first time it squirted her in the face (unplanned, kept in the BTS)
Bree Mills Doesn’t Fuck Around
Bree straight-up says this is the kind of boundary-pushing project Adult Time lives for. Quote:
“The Growth is exactly the kind of boundary-pushing project we love taking on… The behind-the-scenes documentary really captures that spirit of experimentation and collaboration.”
– Bree Mills, Chief Creative Officer
Translation: “We’re the ones crazy enough to green-light body-horror tentacle porn and give it an actual budget.” Respect.
Should You Watch the BTS First?
Hell no. Watch the actual episode blind. Let it freak you out. Then dive into the BTS and marvel at how they made something that disturbing look that good. The YouTube version is already live, or hit up the Adult Time blog for the unfiltered cut.
Bottom line—this is why Pure Taboo still matters in 2025. While everyone else churns out the same gonzo garbage, Bree Mills and crew are out here making arthouse nightmares you can jerk off to. “The Growth” BTS proves the sickos in Montreal are operating on a different level.
Go watch both. Thank me later.
